Reform Our Most Corrupt State - Illinois

Dear Editors and Managers of Major Retailers,

Who is Candy Lightner?

She was a housewife who stood over the body of her 13 year old daughter, Cari, after she became the latest victim of a notorious hit-and-run driver. She had been walking in a California suburb near her home. The car had broken almost every bone in Cari’s body and smashed her skull. Everyone advised Mrs. Lightner to get over her daughter’s death. In 1980 it was considered just another tragic, but common accident.
Candy’s pain wouldn’t let her go on with her life and the deep rage she felt morphed into the Mothers Against Drunk Driving, thousands of new laws and the perfection of the breathalyzer. Today there are 10,000 fewer auto casualties each year than in 1980. A relentless organization with a good idea demanded that politicians act against the preferences of lobbyists. That is why few people remember the name of the organization’s founder.

The most hopeless problem we face today is getting corrupt politicians to pass laws against the thefts that enrich some Illinois officials and improve their chances for reelection. Our non-profit, bipartisan website is targeting a state where corruption is so entrenched and widespread that it is accepted as gently as the weather. We need you to demand improvement by being negative:

1) Purchase and place one of these license plate protectors on your Illinois plate and send a picture of your plate to your state representatives. Demand that the ethics law that would curb pay to play contracts be passed.

2) Remove your protector when you feel that we have the state and local government we deserve. Displaying this protector will show non-Illinoisans that we have a problem that we are going to solve, even if it takes 100,000 plate protectors and twenty years to succeed. Illinois needs a permanent I.R.S. F.B.I. and State Police Investigative taskforce to monitor present and past hiring, spending practices and the personal finances of Chicago and Illinois state office holders. This team will suggest fast-track legislation to prevent innovative bribe, waste and payoff schemes from taking root. The taskforce’s contact information, including a hotline, will be listed on the state website. Politicians, who care about taxpayers, will make corruption reform, real-estate tax reduction and reducing our sales tax their highest priority.

3) We have asked retailers like Wal-Mart, Ace Hardware, Jiffy Lube, Auto Zone to order, stockpile and display identical license protectors in the same manner that they use to sell Support The Troops magnets. We are not supporting anyone. We are taking back control of a Democracy that is supposed to make decisions based on the benefit its citizens.

4) Soon you can leave messages, and ask questions on this website.

Anyone can purchase these license protectors in any increment of 100 or over at the price of $.65 each plus shipping. An open inventory has been arranged through: 4 All Promotions, 40 Main Street, Centerbrook, CT, 06409.
Toll free phone 866-732-3386. Fax 860-767-9952. Website: 4allpromos
All plate protectors should be sold as close to cost as possible.

Would Honest Abe want to be associated with a state that has the highest number of top state and city officials in jail? The People of Illinois will get a turn at living in the least corrupt state. -- Ray
